We love to splash the good news out into our local community here in Nuneaton and around Warwickshire, raising the joy level in local schools, clubs and on the streets.
Local schools
We run weekly after school clubs in three local schools, as well as taking assemblies, RE lessons and running circus workshops around the county.
Special Treats
It has been a great privilege this year to organise some special events for young people and their families from our locality.
Bowling
Fifteen children were able to go bowling and have burgers and chips on a trip we subsidised for them in November.
Camp Out
We also had a “Camp Out” weekend in our grounds at the King’s Lodge YWAM base. Fourteen children from our locality came to camp, play games, do team building games and challenges, build bonfires, eat together and try to sleep! It was a great time of fun and friendship. A particular highlight was when the children’s parents came for a barbeque on the last afternoon, and we were able to honour each child individually with an award for their participation in the camp.
Evening Invitation
We were honoured to invite 25 people from a local housing estate to The King’s Lodge as special guests for a “Love Feast” of Korean food and international entertainment. This was part of a WildFire global outreach we were running, with 60 young people and adults reaching out to this particular community. (To read more about it, click here).
Gala Day
The same WildFire global team were able to serve at a Community run Gala Day, performing dances, running circus workshops and games stalls, holding a tug of war event and helping out behind the scenes to make the day a success.
Transport Service!
Our team minibus is a blessing to us, and we like it to be a blessing to others too. We were able to offer its use to a Community-organised week’s trip for children who would otherwise be unable to go on holiday. We were even able to throw in the drivers too!
